Mintty is a terminal emulator for Cygwin that is based on the PuTTY 0.60 code from Simon Tatham and his team.

It can be downloaded from site or it can be installed through the Cygwins setup.exe program, where it can be found in Shells. The Cygwin installer creates a shortcut for mintty in the Windows start menu.

They include: – Xterm-compatible terminal emulation, including support for the application’s modifier keys and mouse mode. – Windows native user interface that tries to keep things simple. – Support for Windows UTF-8, CJK and IME fonts. – Drag and drop and copy and paste text, files and folders.
