YUMI description and review

YUMI (your universal multiboot installer) is the successor to multiboot ISOs. It can be used to create a multiboot USB flash drive containing various operating systems, antivirus utilities, disk cloning, diagnostic tools, and more. Unlike MultiBootISO which used grub to boot ISO files directly from USB, YUMI uses syslinux to boot extracted distributions stored on the USB device, and uses grub again to boot multiple ISO files from USB, if necessary.

Aside from some distributions, all files are stored inside the multi-boot folder, making it a well-organized multi-boot drive that can still be used for other storage purposes.

YUMI was originally designed to be used to store and run various “LIVE Linux” operating systems and tools from USB. Using YUMI to install Linux from USB to hard drive works on some distributions, but not all. (I am working to address this).

YUMI Multi-boot USB Flash Drive Creation

YUMI works very similar to the universal USB installer, except that it can be used to add more than one distribution to run Live from your USB stick. USB bootable distributions can also be uninstalled with the same tool.
